Congratulations to Mia and Mangyao Han who have recently completed their probation and have officially joined the Allendale Hangzhou team! To celebrate completing their probation and the Chinese National Holiday, the team have gone out for some delicious dinner and a well-earned rest. Good luck and we’re sure you’ll enjoy the rest of your time at Allendale Hangzhou.
A big thank you to the organisers of a fantastic event held at the Marriott Hotel in Cheshunt which we attended, focusing on protecting your business with cyber security.
The challenges associated with cyber-crime can be overwhelming which is why the Hertfordshire Growth Hub, Hertfordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner and his Independent Business Advisory Group held a dynamic seminar about cyber security to help our staff gain a greater understanding of the steps we can take to protect our business and data. 80% of cyber security breaches can be prevented by putting security basics in place, and after attending this seminar, we feel confident in the steps we have already taken in keeping data secure.
We look forward to attending another event soon hosted by the Hertfordshire Growth Hub.
This week we had the pleasure of hosting our good friends and partners from SRA who are based in Boston, USA, as they came to meet the Allendale team and to have some training on some new and exciting products (and they seemed to bring the heatwave along with them!). As the company welcomed Zack, Andy and Sam, we had a great outing together with the staff from Allendale as we all headed out for a couple of games of bowling and some food at Chiquitos.
It was a great night for everyone and a fantastic opportunity for the guys from SRA & the new starters at Allendale to get to know each other a bit more. We look forward to seeing the SRA team again in the near future!
We’ll be cheering on our good friend Steve Philpot on July 29th as he takes part in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 46 bike ride. Steve will begin his journey at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London and will travel on a traffic-free 46 mile route through London to the finish in The Mall.
The Allendale Group have donated to Steve’s chosen charity which is the very special Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Steve is hoping to reach his £350 fundraising target, so if you would like to kindly donate to this very special charity, please click here.
Good luck from everyone at the Allendale Group, everyone’s supporting you and remember, it’s not a race!
... not to be confused with Magneto of X-Men fame, or when Harry met Sally, Alan Ward our MD and Scott Brown, our IT & Web Director, spent a very enjoyable and informative day at the "Meet Magento" Conference in London on 13th June. Magento are e-commerce and technology experts, favoured by a host of the world's biggest e-commerce merchants and partners, including PayPal, Barclaycard, Nike, Samsung and Allendale!
E-Commerce plays a big part in moving our Group forward, and reliability, security and speed of IT platforms in any business which directly sells to the public is essential to ensure our customers can easily, and quickly, identify and purchase products online.
Our thanks to the event organisers, JH, www.wearejh.com, an e-commerce professionals agency.
We're attending the Annual "Wings & Wheels" Exhibition on Saturday 23rd and Sunday, 24th June. We started at this Event 15 years ago and it's grown to be the biggest and longest running Radio Controlled Model Show in the Country. A great day out for family and friends with many stalls and models to enjoy, and live band entertainment Saturday evening for those making a weekend of it with a camping ticket! We will not be taking new stock, instead will be having our BIGGEST warehouse clear out of obsolete and Grade B stocks to make way for new products in our warehouses; so come along and bag a bargain on the day.
To help you, we're happy to accept pre-orders for collection at the event itself; please call our Product Technical Specialists if you'd like to order in advance.
We look forward to seeing you in June; it's a great weekend and an event we're very proud to be associated with since 2003.
Alan Ward’s recent trip to Allendale Hangzhou in China resulted in more pounds gained (mainly around my waistline!), courtesy of an Allendale 15th Anniversary Celebratory cake presented by the Hangzhou team, pictured here.
A great chance for Alan to catch up with Jun Shan and his team and meet with our manufacturing partners and suppliers, and explore new technologies and products to enhance our already extensive range!
We are happy to announce that The Allendale Group store counter is almost complete! With just a few minor tweaks here and there we can already see a massive improvement over the previous store counter. With just a couple more weeks until completion we would like to thank our loyal customers for their patience and support. We are still open to the trade and the public during this time so please pop in and get a sneak peek preview of what is to come.
What were you doing in 2003? Finding Nemo was released in the cinema, the Congestion charge introduced in London, Concorde made its last commercial flight, and, in August, Britain basked in a heatwave; with temperatures reaching 37.9C (100.2F). The most noteworthy event of 2003 however was the birth of Allendale, on 16th April. We celebrated our 15th Anniversary by getting the UK team together to mark the occasion at our HQ in Hoddesdon.
We'd like to thank all our customers for your continued support over the years and we look forward to providing you with many more years of excellent customer product support and an ever extending range of products to suit hobbyists to industrialists. In the words of our founder, Alan Ward: "Onwards and Upwards".
